New Ownership, New Start, Excellent Service!
The work has been going on in the background slowly but we’re proud to finally announce that Run Geek is under new ownership and management, as Matt Crehan, British distance runner and Olympic hopeful, takes the reigns with the goal of making Run Geek the UK’s leading Running Club and Race Event clothing supplier.
Matt brings a host of experience to Run Geek as he takes over as Owner and Director of the business, having grown up surrounded by Olympic Coaches and athletes, two of which being his parents, both well-known athletes in the North West Running Club circuit, Jim Crehan (Warrington A.C.) and Susan Crehan (Sale Harriers) who competed at the 1987 Rome World Championships and 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.
It is with the pedigree of his parentage that Matt has followed in their footsteps, after returning to the sport after 8 years out following the sad passing of his father, Matt has taken his 5k time down to an impressive 14:21 and is a regular face on both the country, track and road throughout the North of England as he aims to achieve what his mother did and represent Great Britain & N.I. at the Olympic Games.
Matt has also served as a parkrun Run Director for over 8 years and is Chairman of St Helens Sutton A.C. giving him a depth of experience and understanding of the needs of all runners, no matter what pace or reason for running, after all Matt believes that running is for all who have a passion for it, and is often the first to arrive and last to leave his local parkrun of St. Helens as he stays to support every runner.
Matt will continue to offer running clubs and race organisers only the highest quality of running kit from sublimated club vests to team tracksuits and bespoke kit, which can all be set up in our fantastic and unique club shops allowing your members to easily purchase their essential club clothing.
Matt will also be offering Run Trial Nights, where he’ll head along to your club night with a set of our Run Geek vests and other kit for you to test out on the run, while getting his ‘Run Geek’ on as he happily discusses training, nutrition and the history of athletics, from Roger Bannister to Alf Tupper, and Steve Ovett to Paula Ratcliffe.
We've also launched our very own luxury performance Run Geek, athletic clothing line featuring compression clothing, hoodies and training kit.
And finally keep your eyes peeled about how you can become part of #TeamRunGeek as we're going to be looking for 12 runners to write blogs about their training and test out our running kit.
